I do not contract or employ any family members.

Jointly with other Labour MEPs I also employ a political liaison officer based in London, who is line managed by the EPLP Secretary General.

Labour Members of the European Parliament are committed to the highest standards of propriety. As of the new parliamentary mandate (July 14, 2009) EPLP Members have agreed to publish online Quarterly General Expenditure Accounts, including information relating to their staffing complement, and travel and subsistence claims. See www.eurolabour.org.uk/transparency.

The expenditure of Labour MEPs' general expenditure and secretarial allowances is reviewed through an audit process carried out by an independent qualified accountant who provides the EPLP with a signed letter testifying that the allowances have been spent in accordance with the Parliament rules and the EPLP's own guidelines.
