Now is not the time to be quiet and accept Brexit. Now is the time to make our voices heard

On Article 50 day, as Mrs May sends her letter to the European Council outlining Britain’s plans to leave the 28-member bloc, David Martin, Scotland’s most senior MEP, said:

“With indyref2 confirmed yesterday and Article 50 today, it seems like the UK as I know it is crumbling before my eyes.

The next few years will once again be spent debating the future of both our unions, while bigger domestic problems north and south of the border once again get ignored.

In little more than six years, the Tories have destroyed Britain’s international credibility and brought Scotland to the brink. Unfortunately, it seems the worst is yet to come.

The Brexiteers say now is the time for Remainers to be quiet and get behind Britain. On the contrary, now is the time for us to make our voices heard even more. We cannot support this disastrous project.”
